Describe the application and the current design stage. Approximate requirements are useful if they are marked as assumptions; distinguish confirmed specifications from values still being explored.
- Input supply range, expected transients and operating environment
- Output rails, steady-state and peak loads, startup and standby behavior
- Existing architecture, known issue, schedule and acceptance priorities
Scope and deliverables are agreed first
The next step is to define the engineering question and what evidence is needed to answer it. Depending on the agreed scope, outputs may include architecture discussion, component comparison, design documentation or review/validation planning. Any schematic, prototype, measurement or compliance work must be explicitly included in the project scope.
